Conba Telephone Fly #1 (variant)

Apparently the original Telephone fly came about from a late-night conversation between 2 somewhat inebriated gentleman. Although the colors can change, the main ingredients are floss butt, gp crest tail, 2 hackles of differing colors, jay (or sub) shoulder and bronze mallard wing. As you can see I forgot the floss tag on this one - the pic on Hans site doesn't have it but the recipe does.

hook - Mustad 3906 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tag - Danville Depth Ray fire orange (missing)
tail - golden pheasant crest
rib - oval tinsel gold
body - dubbing pale olive
body hackle - yellow/red
shoulder hackle - Mearns Quail (jay substitute) dyed blue (Regatta - 3/4 Tsp Rit Aquamarine, 1/4 Tsp Rit Royal Blue/4 cups water)
wing - bronze mallard

Added the tag for a proper version. Wing on this one is rolled/folded as opposed to stacked/pinched on the first one because not all bronze mallard is alike.
