I never got into the online chat thing, probably because I have spent too much time making a living with a keyboard. I would love an actual chat room where you can talk. But, that has never happened anywhere to the best of my knowledge.

The interest fell off, no one wanted to be a moderator and we could no longer justify the cost of maintaining the chat room.

It's was simply an attempt to please ALL at the risk of most who just "ho-hummm" and didn't care. Good example is the current lineup of topics and the SPARSE response to most of them. A "few" vocal members ( all five of thsm :>)) convinced admin that they needed their special space for their specific interest. Even a superficial examination would show that some "special interest" topics could easily be integrated into existing , more actively used topics. All above IMHO.
