The title of this thread is so true. About 9 years ago, I lost 65 lbs on the Medifast diet. I immediately felt 20 years younger. Today, I am 64 and still feel great. I scramble around trout streams and in the surf as well as I ever did. I hear a lot of guys saying things like “I’m getting too old for this”. The truth is, they’ve just gotten too fat. I love and enjoy food as much as anyone, but I’ve learned to be accountable for my calorie intake.

Good for you! Glad you feel better and can do the things you love most.
I'm a desk jockey... my job involves siting in front of a computer screen all day. I don't really exercise, most of my walking is done while fishing. Over the past year or so, I lost 26 lbs and have kept it off. I had decided to simply eat less. Smaller portions. Try to eat less calories than I burn (which isn't much). I still pretty much eat whatever I want...again, just smaller portions. But I do feel older than I think I should...maybe I need to lose some more weight still.

For folks reading this thread that want to know what their target weight might be based on their height, you can look at this:
