I enjoy messing around with new non-traditional fly tying materials when I find them. I tied these un on size 10 jig hooks with a bead head so that they would ride hook point up. I will be using them for Bluegill this fall and winter. The material is a metallic string I found in a craft store for 99 cents. Just a bit of rabbit fur for the tails, the metallic string wrapped for the body and a coat of UV epoxy to protect the string and make them almost bullet-proof. I used red thread to simulate gills. Super easy to tie, not heavy at all and they should produce well. I thought I share just to give folks some ideas about using non-traditional materials at the vise.
