An Adams Hair Wing from Wisconsin tyer Ed Haaga. Used elk for the tail/body to keep flair to a minimum; also tied it a bit bushier than the original since most of the little blue lines I plan to fish are still moving along pretty well.

tail/body- elk hair
rib - tying thread
wing - deer hair (divided)
hackle - grizzly/brown

Mash barb, start thread, wrap to 3/4 point




Clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of deer hair, tie in with 2 soft loops, pull tight while holding on to the butts; trim butts










Clean, stack, measure (shank length) a sparse clump of elk; trim to length, tie in, allowing the hair to surround the shank






Spiral wrap to bend, and back
