    Default The forgotten keel hook.

Old school hooks with new modern materials make for nice combination. Hook that rides hook point up is always a good thing. With the limited space on the keel hook Enrico's brushes work well. Mix and match colors as needed. A few turns of different colors make a killer combinations. This fly takes less than 10 minutes to tie. If you use a UV finish it will take a bit longer. I think I need more colors.

still have a couple of boxes of keel hooks I purchased in the eighties. used to have more, but someone on this web site was looking for keel hooks so I sent him a box only thing I asked for was a couple of the flies he was going to tie. that was a bunch of years back, and haven't heard from hom yet.

anyhow , what I did not like about them was the shank length. I felt it was way to long. hpe the new version has a shorter shank.
