Default First fly on the new Cotarelli vise - married wing Parmacheene Belle

I purchased a new vise over the weekend, my first in-line rotary vise. Bought it with classic wet flies, feather wing streamers, and Atlantic Salmon flies in mind. Definetely brought back the urge to spend time at the vise. This is the first pattern I worked on when I got into married wing flies, so I thought it would be a good way to start on the Cotarelli.

    Regards,

I have the single jaw version. Enjoy tying on it!

WOW - what a nice vise! May I ask, as I am intrigues, the 2 jaw system allows for more materials, do you use them to tie at the different angles?
Not being critical, just curious as all get out!

    Mike,

The two jaws give you two "hold" points on a hook so you can use less pressure to hold it. Helps when using bigger jappaned hooks, by putting less pressure on the hook, there is less of a chance to scratch the hook finish. The jaws can slide on that curved track so you can position them as needed to hold smaller or bigger hooks. Where the double-jaw system really shines is with the big hooks.

Son of a Woolly Bugger! Neat construction and an interesting system.
    Thanks Alberto.
