Just curious if it's worth buying for use in fly tying or rod building.

I'm either going to, coming from or thinking about fishing. Jim
I've tried it. It's an easy way to get started with UV resin as everything is bundled and relatively inexpensive. However, I think there are better products out there if you get hooked on using UV resin regularly. Bondic is a little on the thick side -- ok when you want a bulging wingcase, but not so great for more delicate operations. Once the resin cartridges and battery wore out, I switched to Solarez (has a range of thin and thick resins) and light with rechargeable batteries.
Check this link to the UV Resin shootout chart from Fly Fish Food and look at the comparative amount and prices...Although one popular tier with a load of videos advocates it's use, it just ain't worth it...

I've tried something similar. It was called 5 second quick fix. Looks very similar to the Bondic set up. UV light on one end a narrow metal nozzle tip on the other to apply the resin. The UV light burned out long before I ran out of the resin. But my regular UV light cured it. The narrow tip applicator was great for wing cases on the Copper Johns I've been tying, and using it to coat thread heads on other patterns. I also use it to initially attach eyes to bait fish patterns. Of course, the resin ran out recently. On this particular brand the nozzle portion unscrews and you have access to the tube that held the resin. I just refilled them from one of the other UV resin bottles. Seems to be working well.
I started years ago with Loon UV Knot Sense and have never changed. Always worked great for me and I use it often. However, I did purchase a large Clear Cure Goo UV lamp that works great as well. Just change the batteries in it now and then.
God Bless America
Some people use it and swear by it, but I never have myself.
i tried bondic but it always cured with a tackiness
threw it out
solarez bone dry is now my choice
I've used it and like the light that comes with it, but I find I use Loon Thin UV more. The Bondic "tube" I find a little hard to squeeze and harder to spread than the Loon.
