Had odd hatch...was not sure what was until the browns started eating them on surface and we caught a brown that puked up one.

Tried For Pike And Walleye...Nobody Home Accept A Water Snake

Went below the dam in Gays Mills to try for a pike or an eye...water was dirty and high...no takers... There was an interested observer. It held still and changed positions a couple times...It was not camera shy.

When you arise in the morning, think of what a
precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think,
    to enjoy, to love.

Trip Report "Discover Wisconsin Television" Scouting

Taking Discover Wisconsin out in a couple weeks to trout fish. It was set up by Richland Center Tourism. I hit the water at 9am to check out a couple potential fishing destinations. The first spot was a swing and a miss. Nice looking water but no one was home.

The sun was crawling up in the sky pretty quickly. Bigger trout are finicky and are kind of shy in sunny conditions. There was another prospective place about 20 minutes away. The last time I fished there the weeds were way too high. The farmer told me he was going to pasture his cows in July there. I thought the small stream should be manicured by the cows by now.

The cows had taken care of business for me.

I decided to just fish it for a short time. I did not want the trout to be wary in a couple weeks when I return with the crew from Discover Wisconsin.

I am certain where I will take them. 30 Minutes on second location and 13 browns and one brookie...brookie had gill lice.

caught my personal best walleye a couple weeks back. Taking good photos alone with a slobasaurus is not easy.
