    Default HELP, Foam Disc Flies

Need to tie some flies for a smallmouth trip. Know I saw this fly on line, thought it was here. Basically it was a slider tied with foam discs, several foam discs are slid on the hook by piercing the foam at the edge, then they are alternated one up and one down. What is the name of this pattern and where did I see it?

    Thanks

There's a local fly shop owner and tyer that has a new Umpqua pattern he calls Chocklett's Disc Head Slider. You can see it on his web site, [url=http://www.blueridgeflyfishers.com:1895e]www.blueridgeflyfishers.com[/url:1895e]
look under fly tying. I was in his shop the other day, its a pretty cool pattern. He uses steel punches to make the discs and I believe he uses zapagap to glue them 1 up 1 down along the hook shank, although I could be wrong! hehe not 100% sure exactly how he ties it

Sorry, I forgot to mention, if you click on the link for Loco Foam at the bottom of his flytying page, you'll see a little better photo of his disc head slider. Hope this helps

It is in an old "Fly tyer" or "American Angler" magazine. Not sure which issue.
