That fly would catch bass in mud with those colors. VERY nice.

I've always liked that fly. Nice job in getting it closer to the original than mine are. Here's a couple that I've tied up. So far white and silver have been my best producer.

I'm not sure what the number of rubber strands was in the original tie was. I've seen pictures and they look sparser than the one's I tie. I don't even count the number of strands I use. The first one has a full spinner bait skirt on it. The others are tied with silicone skirt layers. I've caught some decent bass on them.

I don't think the Warm Water Fly Fisher is on line anymore. That's where I picked up on the Pig Boat three or four years ago when I was looking for something different to tie for bass. I changed up on the chenille and hackle. Mainly use long eztaz and two saddle hackles. Tie in the eztaz on the top of the hook and a saddle hackle on each side and then twist them together before wrapping. Crazy legs/Sili legs are spinner bait skirt layers. I use a them for a lot of other flies, so I buy them in bulk from a couple of catalogs that specialize in lure making. I can get 20 skirt layers for between $4 and $6 depending on the design and color.
