body - peacock herl
shellback/head/legs - deer hair dyed olive

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; wrap to bend




clean, stack, measure (3x shank length) a clump of deer hair; trim, tie in






tie in peacock




take 1 wrap behind deer hair, then wrap forward to 1 eye width back from eye




rib body, trim




twist deer hair slightly, pull forward




insert needle under shellback, pinch deer hair tips and slide back; tie down at eye, create about 1 eye width of space to body

push deer hair tips back, hold against body and tie down, creating small head
