This pattern was developed in the late 1950's by Jim Warner, a well-known Wolfeboro fly tyer and guide. He was considered one of the best streamer and tandem tyers of his time. I have done a whole series of his flies, his patterns are gorgeous and most were tied to fish specific areas of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.



Hook: 8X long streamer, size 4
Thread: Black
Body: Flat gold tinsel
Body hackle: Orange hackle
Underwing: White bucktail followed by peacock herl
Throat: Orange hackle fibers
Wing: Two pairs of olive rooster saddle hackles
Cheeks: Woodduck flank feathers
Eyes: Jungle fowl, you can always use painted eyes on the head or even stick-on eyes on the cheeks
