Byron -
I remember you put this fly on here awhile back and commented on its effectiveness.
Are you planning another trip to the Henry’s Fork, etc. again this year (if so, I suppose that time is at hand)? And, do you use this soft hackle fly there then?
John
John,
Yes, have posted here, but before adding some UV Pearl ice dub,
Am headed for Henry’s Fork and Madison in late June. Over 30 years going there.
I have used this fly in the fast water in the middle of The Ranch just above the old broken down bridge mid-Ranch.
Luckily, at the time I go, I can use dry Flies which is my preferred method of fly fishing. But, this fly can also be fished as a dry and has worked as such representing a cripple
Byron- UV pearl (Ice Dub?),gold rib, hare's mask thorax, partridge hackle, and peacock herl head. Right?
Chuck
Chuck, very good.....except abdomen and thorax are fluffed up Dazzleaire pieces via coffee bean grinder with a little ice dubbing worked in with fingers.
I use the smallest gold Mylar for ribbing. It is on a size 14 dry fly hook
