    Default Make your own leaders

I am so sorry that I have not been on line for a long time. Personal things. I would like to know who still make there own leaders. If you do please let me know, I may have a surprise for someone.

I am glad to be back among friends. I thing you guys may know Warren Patterson. He is still having problems with his health but he is coming to terms with it all on what he can do and what he can't do. He has sold me a lot of his fly tying things. He keep a small amount of material but I bout a lot of his stuff. Look at the picture and see if you would like to have it. Its from Frog Hair and it looks new and I think it never been used. Melk or Oldster may have it. The first to PM with address will get it.

Still making my own leaders since the 60's. For the last 3 years I have been winding furled leaders.....never looking back.

I had just started with Healing Waters and they were going to take us fly fishing. This would be my first try at fishing with a fly rod. I was using a tapered leader they had given me and a small spool of tippet. Warren had come up to me and asked if I had a partner and I said no. So he said he would be mine. I made a few cast and Warren said let me see your rod. He looked at my line said fish with his rod so he could fix my rod. He took the tapered leader off and put a furled leader on that he had made. Even being a newbee, I could tell the different and I had been using them ever cense. I have tried to make them with Warren but I can only break the line or make a big mess. It's funny but Warren has not given up on me...LOL

I have been making my own leaders for about three years now. So much cheaper than buying them and you can customize everything about the leader.
