Looks good Byron. Please explain a reversed bullet head and materials. ( Deer hair, zlon and? ) Thanks
Byron -
I like it. Could you provide us a SBS, please. Thanks.
John
Thanks Oldster,
Trailing shuck is Zelon
Hair is deer hair
Side wings are Zelon
Body is superfine dry fly dubbing
Normally, when tying a bullet head, the deer hair tips are pointed to the front of the hook eye when tying in. In this, I tie the hair in with the tips toward the rear, tying down, initially, right at the eye. Then, I sweep the butt ends up ant to the rear and tie down a hook eye behind the eye before clipping them off close. These short clipped butt ends help keep the hair from flaring for a low profile.
Make sense?
Will try to take a few pics during the tie and post later

Clever idea, Byron. Thanks for the idea.
Chuck
Did this in a hurry just now for a Small Western Greek Drake
Lot of the techniques in this pattern came from Kelly Galloup’s “Found Link” pattern. Kelly’s pattern, I think, based on the name, was his response to Bob Mercer’s “Missing Link”
Mine is my changes to his “Found Link” pattern.
Tie Zelon trailing shuck
Tie on ribbing silk
Wrap abdomen with dry fly dubbing
Rib abdomen with silk

Tie in deer hair at the eye
