It had not rained for a few days so I decide that it was a good time to go to the pond. I needed to hike in as water was still standing in places.

We fish tandem bugs a lot, yesterday being no exception. However, yesterday, being as we were bored watching BG's (BIG BG's!) getting hammered on worms while the crappie were in reluctance, we used a Mayaka minnow (minnow immi) and a black wooly-bugger (bug immi) to maybe create entertainment with the BG's too. Danged if ALL the fish didn't come about 1/2 and 1/2 to the minnow or the bug, crappie and BG. Rest assured, ours was a finer fishing day than catching day and thoroughly enjoyed.

Nice early season fish! Always nice when you figure out what they looking for.
