    Default Stewart's Traveling Sedge SBS



    A B.C. Stimi variation, inspired by trout rising to feathers leaking from an old goose down vest.

    hook - TMC 5212 #8
    thread - Danville 6/0 black
    tail - grizzly
    rib - x-small wire silver
    tag - tinsel silver
    body - dubbing insect green
    body hackle - grizzly (undersize by 2)
    wing - mallard flank
    hackle - grizzly


    Part 1

    mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, tie in rib, wrap to bend




    strip some hackle fibers, even, tips, measure (gap width past bend), tie in/trim






    dub thread/dub tapered body to 2/3 mark






    tie in hackle, palmer to bend






    capture hackle tip with rib, continue thru body; helicopter end, cover with thread

    Part 2

    trim out hackle on top to allow wing to lay flat on body




    prep mallard flank, measure (tip to tail), tie in/trim






    tie in hackle




    wrap hackle, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
