I'm looking for Mustad R70 hooks. Sizes 12 and smaller. I can buy or trade.

Couple packs on ebay.com, although they want a fortune to ship. I'll have to check my stash when I get home, but I'm unlikely to have more than a few. According to one web site I saw, Daiichi 1530, Dai-Riki 075, & Tiemco 3796 are reasonable substitutes. I like the Dai-Riki 075 particularly for price and style, but it is a 1XS hook, not standard length. Might be a problem, might not be considering the way Mustads were sized.

Hi whatfly, Thanks for your reply. I'm looking for these hooks specifically because they are a round bend, standard shank, heavy wire hook. Aside from the TMC 9300 I am not aware of a round bend wetfly hook. I like the R70 for tying the Deep Sparkle Pupa. If you have a few of these hooks I will gladly take them off your hands.
