    Default Fish Hawk SBS



    Vintage wet fly; tied in a skinny version for SRCs.


    hook - Mustad 9671 #8
    thread - Danville 6/0 brown
    rib - small wire gold
    tail - mottled turkey wing
    body - tinsel gold
    wing - mottled turkey wing
    hackle - Indian hen

    Part 1

    mash barb, start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend




    prep turkey slips (got these in '74); measure (gap width past bend), tie in/trim, wrap to 1 eye width back from eye










    tie in tinsel; wrap to bend and back, tie off/trim






    counterwrap wire; helicopter end, cover with thread

    Part 2

    prep another pair of turkey slips; measure (tips to tail), tie in/trim








    tie in (folded) hackle by tip




    wrap, tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN
