I remember it well since much of the film was made here in Livingston and some of the fishing scenes were also shot here. It is a grand film, with a grand message that goes well beyond fly fishing.

I took my sister to Missoula to attend U of M in '96. A few months later, the movie came out on cable, where I saw it several times. There was one photo in the movie, that appeared to have been taken from somewhere on campus, looking east to the ridge that bordered the area. I used to have a color photo of almost the exact same shot.
AND, remember that the water fall that the boat goes over is in Wyoming, Granite creek falls is just below Granite Hot Springs pool near Jackson in Hobak canyon
