neeed an imitation
I'm heading up to my brother's place near Cadillac Mi. tomorrow. He called tonight to tell that for the last week or more there has been a big evening hatch on the spring fed pond behind his house with fish rising all over. This is a large deep warm water pond with panfish, bass and pike. The bug is described as about 1/3 the size of a house fly. It's brown with black wings and is crawling around all over everything. I'm thinking a size sixteen irresistible with brown deer hair body and natural dark deer hair wings with black hackle. If anyone has a good idea of what this insect is and how it should be imitated I'd love to hear about it.
edited to say that I changed my mind when I got to the vice. I'm tying a variant type fly with a pheasant tail body, brown hackle tail and black hackle.

I can think of few acts more selfish than refusing a vaccination.
