Default I think this is a great flying ant pattern

This is a pattern tied by William Ensigerum. I believe he also took the photo.

I post it here because I think it is really life-like. Especially the delicate legs. Wish I could tie these!

I believe this is the YouTube link to his tying video of this pattern:

When I first saw the finished fly, I thought it was way beyond my skills, too. After watching the video, it seems very doable. Excellent design that makes the tying relatively straightforward.

I bet you could tie these!

I think you are right Bruce. I posted the photo of the fly before finding the video. Quite a nice fly, and does look very doable!

"Wish I could tie these".......hmmm........after all of the stuff that you have posted over the years on your intricate and detailed patterns, I would have no doubt that you could tie these just fine Byron.

That does look like an awesome fly and the details on those legs looks quite time consuming.

Byron, Thanks for posting this one. I watched the video and tied up a few. I expected it to be much more difficult that it actually was to tie. The legs were much easier than I expected - bunch of black deer hair, divide and mash with the thumb to give the segmentation.

    Thanks,
    Ted

With different colors of foam and a bigger hook...it becomes a wasp.
    This one is "Shark's Wasp".
