The winds really kicked up in town Thursday afternoon and as dry as it's been the past 2 months, those firefighters didn't have much chance; thank goodness none of them were hurt. Lucky enough to stay at the Chalet a few times over the years; the hike up sucks big time but from there to the Glacier and the surrounding trails, some of the most spectacular scenery in the Park, or anywhere else, awaits.

These pics were from 2 weeks ago, a few days after the Sprague Fire started (lightning strike); it was "only" about 100 acres at the time.

Having said that, things are a lot better up here than in Missoula and Seely Lake, where they've been dealing with a series of major fires for almost 2 months. Stay safe all.

Scott
