    Default Adams Superfly SBS

Not one I'll be tying with regularity; foam is so much easier. Did not know Ron O'Neal was a fly fisherman; don't ask no questions why.

    hook - Dai Riki 135 #12
    thread/body - UTC 140 grey brown
    core - 7lb mono
tail - stripped hackle stems grizzly
    abdomen - elk hair dun
    thorax - muskrat
    wing - hen grizzly
    hackle - grizzly/brown

    Part 1

put a loop on the end of the mono

mash barb, start thread at mid-point, tie in mono

    prep hackle stems; tie in

hook mono onto gallows; clean, stack some elk, trim butts/tie in, allowing hair to encircle hook

pull fibers back along mono, rib up (shank length), and back to base

    Part 2

trim mono, elk and hackle stems

measure (shank length) a pair of hackle tips, set convex to convex, tie in, set upright with wraps on either side of base

set dihedral, leaning towards the horizontal, with Figure-8 wraps at wing base

    tie in thread loop

    tie in hackles

wrap hackles (tried wrapping one at a time - not recommended; also, you want to use hackle with the thinnest stems you can find) up (thorax width) and back down; tie off/trim tips (I should have dubbed the thorax before the hackle; it would have been much easier)

    Part 3

    stroke hackle fibers back

    dub thread/dub thorax

pull hackle over thorax; tie down

tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN; them Fokkers were Messerschmitts
