Default A Few Days in Glacier NP (not FF)

Spent a couple days over on the east side of the Park, wanting to see if the rumors of a beargrass super bloom were true.

scored the Geezer Pass on the way in; best 10 bucks I ever spent

bagged a campsite at Two Medicine (got ours at 9:30; by 11 the campground was full! on a Monday!); had to share our space

and decided to take a short hike just to stretch our legs.

    foraging party

on the trail to Aster Falls

    the Falls

a bit of beargrass (hiked this trail last year about the same time and saw none)

    rise and shine

    Sinopah Mountain

the many moods of Rising Wolf (we'll spend most of the day on the backside)

on the trail to Oldman (appropriate, as I obtain my geriatric status) Lake

beargrass everywhere, up to the ridgelines

    Rising Wolf from the backside

marmots were very aggressive (must have had babies nearby); almost had to hose this one down with bear spray (lol)

plans to continue up to Dawson Pass and loop back to the campground were thwarted by a nasty thunderstorm that chased us off the Pass so we had to retrace our steps

those big heads hold a bit of water

Rising Wolf says bye bye the next morning

    Regards,
    Scott

Thanks for posting these nice photos Scott. I've never made it up to Glacier.
