Need help with Magic Tool Table

How do you hold even one of the table legs, if you are using two hands to push a feather into the slot on the table?

Sorry, that reference was to the following maneuver when you pick up the table...probably not the issue here but I wasn't sure.

The slotted small piece of wood should deal with it though.
