Reisenger's Bubble Mayfly Emerger SBS

Walter Reisenger's variation on the Henry's Lake Caddis. Cool fly; durability may be an issue.


hook ? TMC 5212 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black/yellow
rib - small wire gold
shuck/bubble - woodduck flank
body ? Ice Dub pearl
body hackle - golden badger
collar - partridge dyed yellow (1tbs Rit yellow/1 cup water)



Part 1

mash barb, start thread; tie in rib wrap to point (leave some room at the rear to tie down the bubble)




dub thread/dub body






tie in hackle; wrap to rear of body






capture tip with wire, continue rib to the front; helicopter end/cover with thread, trim hackle tip




tie in (folded) woodduck by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

Part 2

tie in partridge by tip; wrap, tie off/trim, whip finish






stroke woodduck fibers forward and start yellow thread at rear




pull woodduck back, encircling body




capture with 1 loose wrap, then push forward, creating bubble




take a few more wraps to secure, whip finish, SHHAN
