    Default KG's South Fork Special

Cherry picking thru Bruce Staples' Flies for the Greater Yellowstone Area, this one's Kelly Glissmeyer's whitefish slayer (should work for trout, too). Kelly has come out with many effective, easy to tie flies; here's his SBS.

    hook - Dai Riki 135 #14
    thread - Danville 6/0 brown
    rib - brassie wire chartreuse
    tail/shellback/wingcase - pheasant tail
    abdomen - Ice Dub pearl
    thorax - Ice Dub brown/olive
    legs - partridge dyed olive
    bead - 7/64 copper

Very nicely tied, Scott. I started tying these a few years ago after seeing Kelly's SBS here. Haven't caught any whitefish on it, but it has been effective on trout in Colorado.

    Thanks,
    Ted
