I had the honor of attending the Art Neumann Memorial Dedication yesterday in Lovells, MI. As many of you know, Art was one of the co-founders of Trout Unlimited on the AuSable River and a fierce water conservation warrior. Art died last year at the age of 99. The memorial was the project of the Michigan Trout Unlimited and several chapters. The memorial, which is a large rock, granite and brass structure will be placed at the Museum of Trout Fishing History in Lovells. The speakers at the event included; author and his long time friend, Robert Nelson; State Chairman, Michigan Trout Unlimited, Tom Quail; Executive Director, Michigan Trout Unlimited, Bryan Burroughs; and last but not least, Chris Wood, President and CEO of Trout Unlimited. The event was attended by well over 100 people to include several of Art's family members. I high recommend you visit the museum and memorial if in the area for the Michigan Fish-In or otherwise.
