    Default Reel seat questions

I was given this reel seat a while back, and I finally went to sand the area where I could see letters. It says Genuine German Silver. It is also obviously a reel seat for a larger rod, like for fishing sturgeon or deep sea. I know there is probably no way to know the maker...

The point of this post...and it's a long shot... does anyone build rods this size anymore? Is this a useful thing?

It is probably a spey rod reel seat. German silver is another name for nickel silver. Saltwater is very corrosive to this alloy, so it is probably not meant for a deep sea rod.
