I fish year round (although not much when its really cold) and have embraced a "just in time" tying strategy. So rather then tying in large volume over the winter, I tie year round and as needed to fill my boxes and be ready for my next trip. That means that I've been tying a lot of Baetis nymphs lately as that's the fly I've been fishing.

I've been incorporating more of euro nymphing concepts into my fishing, so I did spend some time lately putting together an "anchor fly" box. These are all larger, heavy nymphs with tungsten beads and in some cases additional non-toxic wire wraps. Rubber Legged Stones, Sexy Walts, Perdigons, San Juan Worms, Mops, etc. Designed to get down without additional weight on the tippet.
