An Irish lough fly; found this version (minus the holo tinsel cheeks, which I forgot; jungle cock optional, as well) on the Peter Driver site http://peterdriver.blogspot.com Same tying sequence as the PR Heron up to the collar/wing

hook - Dai Riki 075 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - golden pheasant tippets
rib - small wire silver
abdomen - large tinsel silver
body hackle - grizzly
thorax - Arizona Simi Seal red
collar - bronze mallard
wing - bronze mallard

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to bend

prep gp, measure (gap width past bend), tie in

tie in rib, move back to 2/3 mark and tie in tinsel

wrap tinsel to tail and back (if you can keep the turns just touching and not overlapping, you won't have to play chase the lump); tie off/trim

tie in hackle; wrap to tail
