Visiting my son in Santiago, Chile who teaches at an International School here.
Went to this pretty small fly shop yesterday, although I think it is the largest in the City.
I saw a post that one of my favorite folks (Jay Smitt the maker of the Jvice and other tying tools) was coming to demo his vise and tying.
Had to take my daughter-in-Law to translate for me. Turns out, Jay is currently fishing down in southern Chile in the Patagonia Region and will not be here until the 11th of the month........I leave here the 9th! Bummer!! Jay came all the way here from South Africa and I came all the way from Hawaii and I will miss him by 2 days....
Anyway, a few pictures of the fly shop here in Chile:
Shop manager showing me his Regal vise. He is an excellent tier!
Bought the obligatory hat. The word "Sueltalo" in Spanish means "Let it Go"...i.e., Catch and Release:
