Rod/reel balance is a dynamic thing. Just the amount of line outside the rod tip affects balance.

I think it's up to each angler to decide what works well for them. I find that I don't like rigs that are too tip heavy

Many years ago I learned thatnwhen spending all day casting 350 to 400 grain shooting heads good casting form was more important than finding some static balance point.
