When you arise in the morning, think of what a
precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think,
    to enjoy, to love.

    Friday Trip Report

Wanted to get out while streams were still in good shape.

Hard to find a fishing partner on a weekday.

Was fishing close to the road today because I was flying solo. The wife gets nervous when I go alone and wants me close to the vehicle.

The sun got high quickly and the bigger trout got lock jaw. I landed 22 browns with nothing over 14 inches.

I hit another stream that was really close and not far from the road and caught another 7 dinks.

Trout were in fast water today for the first time of the year.

I know the weather is good this weekend but I have been fishing during the week these days with my wife's car to avoid claim jumpers.

Fished from 2pm to 6:30pm. Had to sit often. No endurance.

    Second cast.

Had one ferocious hit that nearly tore the rod out of hand.

Was surprised i had no hook up with such a freight train.

    27 to hand.

    Trip Report 3/28/17 Richland County

Robins egg blue skies. I fought with going or not and the warm weather coaxed me out of the house.

Was 58 degrees and water was 46 degrees and crystal clear.

Lots of swipes but not hits. I knew with the bright sun the fish would be in cover or broken water.

24 browns to hand. Most micros. These were the three biggest. 2:45 to 5:30 fishing

Did add a written comment in log book

    Dan Braun Wants A Rematch

Dan drove down to be my net man after the big trout I discovered a couple days ago. He was pleasantly surprised when I told him I would let him fish for it first. He tied on a new 3X leader and tied on a size 8 green turd.

First cast he caught this little one.

He checked the leader and fired right back into the lair of the gator. He felt resistance on his line and set the hook. His line came back empty and it appeared as if his fly was clearly bitten off.

We talked about it for a short time while he was retying. He felt fish for a brief moment and then the line went limp. We both decided the big trout had alligatored the fly.

Dan fired back in there and caught another trout.

Dan cast in there again this time it cut a big swirl as it attack the fly and the line came back empty.

He had been alligatored twice in less than 5 casts. The trout did not come back.

We went to another stretch and fished for a couple hours.

17 to hand for Dan and 12 for me.

The legend of the giant brown grows.
