A little different look from the nymph version



More in line with the Euro sea trout pattern; the aftershaft thorax creates the illusion of bulk and allows the hackle to flow a bit better.


hook - Mustad 79580 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 black
underbody - non-tox wire .025
tail - hackle tips badger
rib - fine wire silver
abdomen - tinsel silver
thorax - pheasant aftershaft dyed black
hackle - badger

Part 1

mash barb, wrap front 1/3 of shank with non-tox




start thread, tie in rib, wrap back to bend




measure (shank length) a pair of hackle tips; tie in and smooth butts






tie in tinsel behind non-tox; wrap to the tail and back and tie off






counterwrap rib; helicopter end, cover with thread

Part 2

create thread loop; insert aftershaft, spin








tie in (folded) hackle by tip, lay over top of aftershaft






moisten fingers, stroke back hackle and aftershaft while wrapping forward; tie off/trim, whip finish, SHHAN
