Benjo- The pattern seems easy enough and I like using foam! Have you tied up a hopper variation using this technique? What color foam do you typically use? I was thinking white foam and using markers to add color and/or segmentation.

Paul, I do tie hoppers with brown Rainey's foam and they work. To make your foam mottled: get some large grit sandpaper and cover it in paint. Then gently push the foam onto the sandpaper and the higher spots will transfer the color.
