    Default Tying on flies

    Hi all,
As I not so gracefully age, I find that my fingers no longer are as great as they were. I was tying on 16 Zebra midge to hack around a little yesterday. Fine, except that I don't think I got the knot secure. "Hmmmm", I thought,"no fish" as I dragged an empty tippet along the bottom in a beautiful presentation. What out there do you use to hold the fly to twist and then sneak the tag end in to complete a cinch knot. I was thinking the wire clip thingies, can't get the correct name at the moment - you push the bottom, the little clip comes out the top - as a holder.
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Fumble Finger Mike

    These work great:

If you do a search for electronic mini test clip, you should pull up a good number of results.

so i'm telling someone that i enjoy fly fishing.
person says, "I've always wanted to ask: How do you get the flies to stand still so you can tie them to the hook?"
title of this thread made me remember that exchange!
fly fishing and baseball share a totally deceptive simplicity; that's why they can both be lifelong pursuits.
