7.8 magnitude quake hit near Christs Church last evening.....Wow!

First one killed at least 2. Second one was over 6.0....

Hi Guys
Been nearly a week now we're safe and family as well about 300 miles from quake center we felt it here as well and had a tsunami warning at the time which fortunately was minor on coast here .The damage to land etc is huge whole mountains have moved some reports of the sea bed rising 6 meters

I know some of the affected area well have spent a lot of time fishing and camping around Kaikoura.

Prayers to our Kiwi friends. We were there in 2011 after the big one off Christchurch. Saw the damage around that city. We had a whale watching cruise booked at Kaikoura and stayed one day and night there in a hotel on the beach. I can only imagine the damage to that beautiful little coastal town. Jim
