First off nice job Jeremy B.

I never that they were that easy to do.. you really made that look simple..

next... what is a good source for the razor foam.. and how many color does it come is... or is there a sub. foam that can be used??

as far as the foam goes I do have alot of that thin sheet packing foam.. do you think that it would work??

I'm tying for a South Platte trip and I think I should have some in my box.

    Jack,
Send me an email. The south platte is my home water. I should be able to get you some helpful information. If you have a schedule ie time you'll be here and rivers you plan on fishing I can surely help out.

    Leonard,

THanks for your kind words regarding the pattern. It is a great fly to use in many situations. And it really is an easy tie!

I picked up the razor foam at my local fly shop. Comes in a few colors that I have seen. It is very fragile, so you have to take care while using it. But by coating the top of it, makes it last much longer. HOpe you enjoy the pattern!

I tied a couple using Poly Yarn for the foam. Look very nice. Did one in gray and one in black. When I looked at the tying steps I thought the foam looked like Poly Yarn!! So I used what I had. Very easy fly to tie as are most "Small" ones. People tell me "You can't catch anything with that and I pull out the TU photos!!

If you replace the foam with poly, do you still coat it, or is it no longer necessary because it is not as fragile?

I still coat it in hopes that it last longer because fish love it!!
P.S. The buddy going to the South Platte with me says we're NUTZ!! You can't catch a Trout on anything that small!!

    Leonard,
I've used this fly with GREAT success on the southern Missouri streams and rivers. Wouldn't want to go anywhere without this one in my box.
