    Default Mustad 3582 Double hooks

    Hi there,

It seems to be getting harder and harder to find these double hooks anywhere. I use them for a few select patterns for Atlantic Salmon and would like to replenish my stock. Did Mustad discontinue these?? and if so, what did they replace them with or what do you recommend a suitable replacement to be?

    Thanks,

    Dwight

The #6, #10 and #12 pile are getting small.

#12 are a little small for salmon but are great for sea trout.

I have two bags of Turrall of England Double salmon hooks in size #6 that I will let you have if you need them. I thought I had other sizes but I guess not. Been a long time sense I looked at them. There are 25 to a bag. These are old but very well made hooks. I see that they are going for around $10.00 per 10 hooks depending on which hooks you are buying. These are all I have and you are welcome to them if you want them. Let me know. E-mail me and we will discuss price. I will look some more and see if I have other sizes somewere else. Ron

Yes, the 3582's have been discontinued for a few years now. The current replacement is the 80525BL.

I saw an online retailer selling packs of 100 for around $32.00. The 80525BL has a chemically sharpened point.

    Dwight,

I guess your water is "bigger" than here, ... 'cause I've taken more Salmon on #12's than any other size in the "wets".

Do you "usually" fish the smaller sizes or "move" to them as the Salmon dictate it ??
