Default A Few Blue Lines TR

    A Capital Idea

No time for full-blown destination trips with family in town and decks to strip/re-stain but have had a few days to spend poking around on some lesser-loved water. Wife had a quilting thing to attend in Helena so I decided to ferry the trailer and tag along. Took the longer route but Marias Pass is easier on the brakes/transmission, and the wind was at our six

quick stop for gas in Conrad; always interesting things for sale (apparently coyote urine has replaced bobcat in the ungulate defense world)

    purple mountains

    amber waves

and me without cards, or my board

Got the trailer settled, dropped the wife off downtown, and headed out. Too late in the morning to hit the tricos on the big river over the hill and I really wasn't in the mood for that mob scene; lots of other options.

    brown fish

    headed for the canyons

tight quarters, but some very nice fish up here, most of which I managed to spook

Wife had an overnight backpacking trip (her first) up in the Park, so we hauled *** the next morning and managed to score a campsite at Two Medicine. Took her to the trailhead and I went to throw foam things at cutts

flav? (small green Carnage Drakes worked well)

    Next morning, back at camp

    Sinopah Mountain

    flora

fauna (spotted 2 bear, one swimming on the other side of Two Medicine Lake and one walking into the brush where I had just finished fishing; no pics, though)

    meet the spruce grouse family

    Regards,

Red Ants (in my) Pants Edition

Wife wanted to take her brother to the festival so, once again, I volunteered to ferry the trailer to Yasgur's Farm West where we met up with about 15,000 of our closest (and I mean close) friends

Music wasn't on my agenda (when Steely Dan comes to central MT I'll leave the rods behind) so it was off for a little fishing the next morning. Wanted to do something Crazy but the main event there was being visited by Hoot Owls so I weighed my other options:

    Belt (the Bigger)

    Castles in the sky

spun the dial and headed out into some really pretty country

a bit boney but flows were still decent and water temps were plenty cool

    'bows, and not too picky

over the hump to something a little wider and deeper

'bows and cutt-bows; again, happy with most any foam thing thrown at them (although, for some reason, tan didn't draw much interest)
