    Default Davie McPhail

I've been a big fan of Davie's Youtube tying videos for several years. I've learned scads of tying tips. Sometimes, though, I have to listen very carefully to break through his lovely Scots burr. Worth the effort, for sure. Recently, I've had much more trouble understanding him. Sometimes I have to go back over a section a couple of times to understand what he is saying- and, occasionally, to no avail. Am I the only one with this more recent problem?

Agreed. Can't say I've noticed a diction difference but I'm usually concentrating on the video portion.

I also miss allot of what he is trying to say in Scottish English, but his hands to the story. Love to watch his videos.

I had a really good friend who was born in Scotland and moved to Australia when he was a young man. I would talk to him on the phone a few times a year and I s lucky to get every third word. A Scot with an Aussie accent. An interesting combination. It wasn't just me either, as some of his Aussie friends had the same trouble understanding him. I must say, I love a Scottish accent.

Have a wee dram of single malt before watching. It might help clear things up.
