I have used it and I like the crochet needle with a little fatter tube idea...next time I have spare time I will get right on that

An alternative system, promoted by Pat Dorsey and the Blue Quill Angler, uses dental rubber bands and polypropylene macrame yarn. It is simpler since you don't need a crochet hook. You just make a loop in the leader, similar to the NZ system, wrap a dental rubber band around the loop about 5 times, insert the macrame yarn in the loop, and cinch the rubber band down to hold the yarn in place. Brush out the yarn and you are ready to go. The indicator can be moved along the leader, but stays in place during casting.
