Mustad S82-3906B Nymph Hooks, #14

Can you tell me the length of the hook shank on these hooks? Thanks. John

Hi John,
Mustad calls it a 2XL nymph hook. Their 3906 is called standard length, and they have no 1XL model, so the 3906B is one "step" longer. Back before their S82 designation for chemically sharpened hooks, they called the old 3906B a 1XL. If I remember correctly, that means this #14 hook has a shank length equivalent to a #12 standard length hook. I find this model ideal for bead head nymphs. It would be a little long for non-BH's, IMO.
