    Mike,

    I'm tying 3 Gary LaFontaine's caddis patterns.
    3 patterns x 3 sizes x 6 color combinations and 3 of each = 162 flies.

Funny you should ask. I just finished tying a Finnish zonker muddler for a swap yesterday. Moments ago I came up from the vise where I tied a "salmon" fly -- my son brought his lady friend home from college a few weeks ago, and it was the first time I met her. She had firey red hair under blond with red streaks. First thing I said was that she'd make a great bass fly, which sent her into a giggling fit. Funny girl and a great character. So I tied a red zonker tail onto a large salmon hook, laid down a bright red yarn body with an overlay of silver tinsel. A bib and wing of bright yellow bucktail, accented with some pearl flash, with a bright red bucktail wing over the top. Next step is to build a little shadow box and have a friend do a small plaque reading, "First Impressions." They'll be home Wednesday or Thursday and I'll lay it on her then. Hee, hee! (actually, as gaudy as it sounds the fly really doesn't look that bad). JGW
