    Default Viz-A-Dun?

John Barr's article in the most recent Fly Fisherman mentions this pattern as his favorite mayfly dun. Can't find a pic or recipe. Nothing found under Google.Any help appreciated!

I wondered the same thing. Could it be a comparadun with a bit of hi vis in the wing's center?

Or maybe something to do with visi goths. Fall of the Roman Empire, that sort of thing. Hey, you never know, fly tying mags are full of interesting references.

    sasjo,

Fanned hackle fiber tail, dubbed body, fanned antron wing close to center of body, open spiral hackle with 'V' trim under body.

LOL - and very timely indeed a picture has just turned up

Thanks! It was driving me crazy.

Did you mean polypro and not antron for the wing?

Check Charlie Craven's site for a real nice tutorial on the Vis-a-dun.

Saw Mr. Barr speak over over in Arvada at Charlies flybox Saturday. Charlie posted the recipie for the vis-A-dun yesterday 3/14/05 its a very simple and effective pattern. Scott P already posted the link.
