Quick and easy pattern; a good way to utilize lower quality CDC. Tied here as a PMD; change color/size to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 125 #16
thread - Danville 6/0 pale yellow
rib - x-small wire copper
tail/abdomen - pheasant tail
abdomen - dubbing tan
loop - tying thread (doubled)
hackle - CDC yellow
thorax - dubbing pale yellow

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; tie in rib, wrap halfway down bend

measure (gap width) some PT fibers; tie in

wrap to point above point; tie off/trim

counterwrap rib; helicopter end, cover with thread

tie in loop

tie in CDC by tip (this was pretty old CDC and on first attempt the stem split when wrapping so I put the next feather in a damp Kleenex and microwaved it for 15 seconds - no more stem splitting); hook loop to the gallows

wrap CDC (stroking fibers back with each turn) up and down loop, tie off/trim
