Spent Saturday on a couple of urban drainage lakes with good success. Spent about 3 hours and caught 20 or so, mostly nice 'gills in the 7-8" range, and a few small bass in the same range. Just bank fishing; I hit one spot where I got a 'gill on about every cast and I doubt I ever had more than 10-12' feet of line out. It got pretty windy so I moved to the other side; with the wind at my back I couldn't get a decent backcast so I'd just roll the line up in the air and let the wind carry it out along the rip rap on the shore; caught several there as well.

There was a drainage culvert and I'm pretty sure there was carp laying back in there sipping cottonwood seeds; I swear I heard him roll a couple of times. Tried to get him to chase something out of there, and floated a cottonwood seed fly I have back in there but couldn't interest him.

No pics, but my daughter says all my fish pics look the same anyway .
